Effingham Steel has three automatic grinding machines, which can achieve sine wave, spot and full surface grinding of forged ingots, fluted ingots, blooms, slabs, billets and small bars. Tailoring our operation to meet customer requirements, allows us to reduce surface defects and flaws with minimal yield loss.
To spot grind ad hoc shaped material, hand grinding can be carried out using high frequency machines. Our machines have the capacity to process material 18 metres in length, 1100 mm in section and 1400 mm wide slabs and blooms, with craneage facilities to handle up to 30 Tonnes.
Dye penetrant inspection is available on request.
